Fiam Academy

A&T 2024: with Fiam a focus on Open Innovation among business cases and university students.

The 2nd edition of A&T — Automation & Testing, the fair dedicated to the Northeast and Northwest italian territories, was held last month, this year guided by a new claim: “Where experience meets innovation.
Also us from Fiam were present with our Team and an exhibition booth, embracing the stated goal of the fair: “to offer concrete answers to the needs of Italian Companies engaged in facing the competitive challenges of new production and business models, in the perspective of Industry 4.0 and 5.0.

We therefore took part as exhibitors, not only bringing concrete and operational answers such as Industry 5.0 Assembly Solutions — interconnected and also carrying important benefits in terms of energy savings — but also promoting a new model of innovation with a Workshop dedicated to practical and replicable examples of implementing the Open Innovation methodology in the company.

The workshop, titled “From the Ideal to the Feasible: Concrete Experiences of Open Innovation in B2B” and this year in its 2nd edition, was held on Thursday, Nov. 7, in the Conference Area of the Pavilion dedicated to Smart Manufacturing, to delve into the new methodology of product innovation in the B2B sector, in perfect alignment with the claim of the fair. della fiera.

In addition to the testimonies of 3 Managers from local but international companies, this year they were also joined by some students from the IUAV University of Venice — Vicenza branch, who were part of the Fiam Team this summer, after proactively applying for a 3-month extra-curricular project, with the aim of testing their skills in Industrial Design.

Our CEO Nicola Bacchetta was joined during the workshop by the speakers Alessio Scopel of Videndum Media Solutions , Gianluca Demurtas of Socomec and the three students Paolo Romano Vendramin, Filippo Nardelli and Davide Turati, who recounted their Open Innovation experiences and projects, coordinated by Simone Sinico, Communication and Innovation Area Manager of Confindustria Vicenza.

It was an in-depth opportunity to learn, in the different Case Studies, how the product experience of operators can be transformed into product innovation-design and production-but also to be amazed in front of a training project that involved Generation Z students who, with enthusiasm and passion, brought innovation from ideas and creativity to the collaborative project undertaken, also opening the doors to future Open Innovation developments among our company departments.
